Sunraysia FAQ

Yes. Like the original bottles of Sunraysia Prune and Cranberry juice you know you’re drinking the most delicious and healthy juices you can buy and that will never change, however one thing we decided to change is how we look. After speaking with over 5000 Sunraysia customers in research we made a few changes. We hope you like them.

No. There is absolutely no change to these products inside. It’s still the same top quality juice. The only thing that’s changed is the bottle, which now has a new look. The price has also changed. You’ll be pleased to hear that Sunraysia juice is more affordable than ever.

We pasteurise the product in an airtight glass bottle. This is a process of heating that ensures that each Sunraysia bottle is free from bacteria, spoiling, or other food borne diseases. It’s just like vacuum fresh sealing any food. Keeps perfectly until opened.
The pasteurisation process requires us to bring our juices to extreme temperatures. Pasteurisation is important in maintaining safety and quality and means our product does not have to be refrigerated until it is opened.

Not from concentrate or not reconstituted means that the juice is only from fresh squeezed fruit i.e. the fruit is simply squeezed and bottled.

Everyone’s talking about antioxidants these days. As a result, we all know they’re good for us. And to back up all the ‘chit-chat’ there’s plenty of scientific explanations about the benefits. That’s great if you’re a scientist or a doctor. But do you know as much as you should? That’s why we’ve put this information together. Hopefully, once you’ve read it, you’ll know as much as you need to know about antioxidants.

To understand antioxidants, there are two basic things you need to know:
• Free Radicals are bad
• Antioxidants are good
Think of Free Radicals as ‘The Bad Guys.’ They’re basically ‘molecules’ with one mission – to wreak havoc inside your body. All they want to do is run around your body, pulling at this, jabbing at that and annoying everything and anything that’s trying to do good. And Antioxidants? Well they’re ‘The Good Guys.’ They track down the Free Radical ‘Bad Guys’ and chase them out of ‘town.’ Then they clean up after themselves – restoring the natural balance in your body.

Are Free Radicals really that bad?

Researchers have found a lot of evidence linking Free Radicals to cell damage in your body. They actively contribute to the occurrence (and reoccurrence) or many diseases – in particular age-related illnesses including heart disease and cancer

Where can I get these antioxidants from?

The best sources of Antioxidants are foods that are naturally rich in them. These tend to be fruits and fruit juices, vegetables and vegetable juices, nuts and wholegrains

How do I know where they are?

ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) is the standard method of measuring how many Antioxidants there are in food. It was developed by the National Institute of Aging in Baltimore, USA. Look out for the Antioxidant count on labels (just like those on bottles of Sunraysia). It’s a simple, easy and clear guide. As a guide, the US Food Drug administration (FDA) has recently suggested that Americans increase their antioxidants to 7,000 ORAC units per day. Are you getting enough? Check those labels! Most experts recommend that fruit juice, like any food, should be enjoyed in moderation. Fruit is one of the most nutrient packed food groups, with an array of essential vitamins and minerals for good health. Fruit provides a significant contribution of carbohydrates, dietary fibre, vitamin C, beta-carotene, folate and potassium. The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating recommends 2 to 4 serves a day for Australian adults, and most dieticians advocate counting one fruit serve per day as juice.

Sunraysia is a 100 per cent Australian-owned company and all of our juices are bottled in Australia. Where possible we always use Australian grown fruit as is the case with our Australian Mango juice which contains Australian Kensington Pride mangoes. Our commitment is to always use the best tasting, seasonal fruit all year-round, which means that during certain times of the year we import our fruit from countries known for their high quality produce. And no matter where it comes from, rest assured we’re always using the pick of the crop, squeezed and bottle it right here in Australia.
